Blowing from cat?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Had my oil service done this morning. They gave me an advisory that it had started blowing from around the cat. I was told it would a couple of hundred quid. Is this true? Are there any other options? If I de-cat (is that even possible) what are the MOT implications?

Thanks,

Martin

diesels are fine to decat gives you a few more bhp and emissions not checked at mot so a bonus all round

That's cool. Is it the sort of thing that "normal" exhaust places are reluctant to do? Who would I get to do this? And cost compared to getting the cat section replaced?

Thanks

I just replaced my Cat on 1.9 SDI (2001) for £95, From Unipart. Also had to replace the centre clamp as it was well corroded (£11.08 From Stealer)
