Air Con upgrades

Featured Replies

My '07 Octavia Estate (Ambiente) has the standard manual controls for the air con. Is it possible to upgrade this to an automatic version (Climatronic?)

What options do I have and what parts do I need? Is it a straight swap or are there additional sensors or control units (ECU's) that I need to get as well?

Can't find any responses to similar questions on the forum, so can anyone help?

Thanks

Last price guesstimate for this was £5k plus fitting.....................I'll stick with the climatic

Ouch!! Nextime I'll make sure I tick the box for the climatronic option when I'm ordering. Didn't know it was that expensive to retrofit. emoticon-0124-worried.gif

Wow! That's almost more than the car is worth...

What's involved on top of a control panel like this one? (Air Con Controls)

What are the different levels of air con control? I think I have the basic one with three manual dials and a button to turn it on or off.

Control panel

Heater box

Flap motors

Sensors

Wiring loom

All for starters.

The reason you can't find any instructions on the forum is that it makes no sense, as it would be much cheaper to sell your current car and buy one with Climatronic.
