NEW BADGES

Featured Replies

Getting two new skoda badges front and back replaced under warranty as the silver is flaking off asked how long it will take for the dealer to do the job, and he says ( dont know never had to do it before ) , when i looked at the cars on his forecourt there was quite a few with the same problem, all models all ages so i presume people must just live with it.

I've had two sets, front and back and also the wheel centre badges on my 3 1/2 year old octy ii. It looks as if I need another set now.

Mine are looking a bit worm eaten now too. Never remembered to get them dun under warranty.

Is it an easy job to replace them?

I'm not sure how easy it is to replace them, I've always asked my dealer to do it when it was in for a service. The first time they were covered under the warranty but I was informed that they would only do this once on a car, so the next time I had to pay.

Cheeky sod! If it's a known manufacturing fault (all badges for all cars generally are interchangable) then it should be gratis. The cheek of these dealers, seriously! :wonder:

I'm on my second set and they too are looking shoddy.

The common replacement Skoda wheel centre caps for alloys seems to be part No. 6U0601151LMHB. Anyone fitted these as replacements recently?

I have some refurbed Golf MkV alloys on my Skoda, any idea the diameter and mounting hole size on the Skoda centre caps above? The VW alloys I have a 56mm mounting hole and 60mm diameter centre. Will these centre caps fit?

Del

Yeah I know its a cheek but they wouldn't bugde, Skoda UK will only authorize one set under warranty, so they told me. I'm fact they asked me what make of car shampoo I was using, I use Born to be Mild (great stuff by the way), which isnt cheap, the Service Manager said it sounds likes fairy liquid. I wasn't impressed.
