Changing clocks vRS

Featured Replies

I'm thinking the problem with my speedo is that the instrument panel itself might be duff, have sourced another set of clocks, but have just been advised that the clocks may have the immobliser in it and therefore when changed the car wont start?

Anyone shed some light on this as I'm about too pay for the clocks.

I would hold fire on that pm sharkrider first, sometimes people change for them not to work at all, he is your man for this

You will need them matched by a dealer, your car won't start plus the mileage will be stored in there from the previous vehicle.

I'm not 100% this is the problem, just not sure whatelse it could be, so I was going to do this just too see, but I'd rather the car itself carried on working rather than the speedo lol.

It's not a dealer only job, we can do instrument cluster swaps.

Hi Shark,

would you be able to diagnose whether an instrument swap was what Rennie needed before you did it or is it one of those try it and see jobs?

Very true in your case, I do appologise.

As long as someone can get to you.

I'm going to order the mechanical part of the speed sensor tomorrow as for the couple of quid it is it's best to rule it out.

It's normally the bit that fails to be honest, they can drop into the box though so let's hope it's something simple.

Worth checking the plug on the top as they get water in them and corrode out.
