hi guys,the head unit in my mk1 vrs has just stopped working and the display has come up with "surface".it keeps skipping through the 6 discs in the changer but wont play music.even after an hour or so.i really want to get it fixed because i'm driving to aberdeen in a week.any ideas? thanks.

i had this happen to mine i took the cd cassette out unplugged the changer wire cleaned all the discs blew into the changer itself to see if there was any dust in it. connected all back up and it's been fine ever since

thanks mate,did you disconnect the wire on the changer or on the hu?

on the actual changer, left it 5 or 10 mins while i cleaned everything then plugged back in
