squeaking sound - sunglasses storage

Featured Replies

I have a problem with the squeaking sound sunglasses roof storage on my 2009 OCt II. It can be heard when accelerating in 2 or 3 gear, and is very annoying. I determined that the sound is coming from the 2 little black pins that are part of the closing/opening mechanism (when I hold them with my fingers during drive, everything is silent). Does anyone have any ideas please?

I had noises and creaks from that area. I easily removed interior light to get access and packed out area to prevent movement etc. Silent now..

Thank you for your answer.

Why did you have to remove the interior light? Isn't the sunglasses storage separated? How did you pack out the movement?

Hi, the sunglasses assembly is totally fixed to rooflining (on my 2008). The front light lens pops off if my memory serves me correctly & a couple of torx screws have to be removed. That takes 2 mins and gives good access to the sunglasses holder and void above it. I used some flame retardant foam to pack it out and firm up the area...
