Boot Floor Height

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, this is my second post, but I read nearly all of them. It is so good to have this much information as we wait for our new cars. I have read the various posts on the spare wheel issue, but I still don't understand what the implications for the boot floor are. I have ordered the spare and have a build week of 30th November. Should I expect the raised boot floor to be perfectly level with the boot door or some way below it? I'm not particularly fussed, but we have a dog and i am about to invest in something like this;

dog mat

This one fortunately doesn't have much of a lip on the front side - some of them do.

I'm not 100% sure whether the SMs with the smaller spare have started arriving yet. Have they?

Any thoughts on whether this is any good / will fit would be much appreciated.

I think that tray is for the 'spare-less' version.

With the spare, the boot is almost level with the bumper.

Hi there. First the boot with spare. The floor is not level with the base of the door. There is a drop of an inch or so.

Hope this helps. Or check the Flickr pool for more pics:

As to the spare: apparently the bicycle type space saver spare was just a rumour and is not going to be implemented.

Johann, thank you very much for the photos. The dog-mat I posted would seem to be a good fit with the raised floor then would you say? i.e the floor is higher, but the area no smaller / larger. To the extent there is a front lip on the mat it is an inch or less by the looks of it. Thanks again.
