odd request

Featured Replies

Might seem a bit odd, but after having spent a lot of yesterday exchanging furitless emails with K&N, I was wondering if anyone who has a 1.2 TSi Yeti (preferably the 105 version but don`t think it really matters!) could take a picture of their engine bay for me as I want to know if the K&N Intake listed for the 1.2 TSi (57S-9005 if anyone is interested) would also fit my Fabia as K&N themselves seemed unsure!

Thanks in advance!

Have you thought about this? http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57S-9500 I am pretty sure they will fit, as they are specifically made for the model, and I think it might also eliminate heat soak.

Sorry that was the one I meant - its only listed for the Yeti though, not the Fabia so I have assumed (and K&N didn`t seem to know when I asked) that it doesnt fit, but I wanted to see wht the Yeti enginebay looks like to see if it might fit.

If your referring to the cylindrical object with electric plug that's the electronic waste gate actuator.

Yes thats the one. Would that be whats replaced if a BOV (such as http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=260307&product=FMDV14T) is fitted?

And should the intake pipe going into the turbo be hard up against the shell of the turbo as mine has a small (2-3mm) gap from where the pipe would be hard up against the turbo and where it sits and I can`t get it to fit any closer to the turbo.

Would be surprised if theres any mod out there yet for this turbo as the 1.2TSI is pretty unique in having a electrical actuator for waste gate operation.

Yes the air induction pipe on to the turbo is a pretty poor fit due to th 4 and 8 o'clock position of the two retaining bolts, so it 'leans away' at the top.

Hum, thats a bummer. Take it the 1.4 TSi engine isnt an electronic wastegate then?

From what I can see on my intake pipe it only has a single retaining bolt on in, about 1/3 of the way around the pipe looking from directly above. Just looks odd as it appears that you can see the turbine blades in the gap.
