After much deliberation, I finally ordered my new petrol Octavia vRS in Candy White and very much looking forward to reciveing it this side of Christmas 2011 :p

I'm already finding some great information on this site and everyone sounds really helpful. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions when I take delivery of my new car.

Candy White TSI with Maxidot, Mobile Device Interface, Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror with Light Assist and Rear Parking Sensors. V excited...

I have no idea what the lead time is and it's been ordered through my Company Car Scheme. Prob a while by the sounds. It's okay though as they have given me a nice car to tide me over.

I test drove the diesel and the petrol and decided to go with the petrol vRS...found it a bit more responsive but not looking forward to the fuel bill! haha!

ordered 18 sept and being built next week so should have it by xmas.

like you i test drove both but thought the petrol dsg was just too smooth to ignore.

going to get a revo remap so looking for about 250bhp by then.

people on here getting high 30s mpg so fuel bills shouldnt be too bad for you

I thought the lead times would be a lot longer than that. Wasn't expecting to get mine before April/May next year. Having said that, i'll wait and see...might not even be before then. Lease companies are probably pretty far down the food chain! Never mind. At least I'm not paying for it :p

I went for the manual version as I found it more of an involving drive (that's actually a load of crap...my allowance wouldn't stretch to the DSG). I would have loved the automatic box. I test drove the diesel DSG and was impressed with the smooth gearbox.

God! I hope I get that kind of economy but your talking to someone that struggled to get 32mpg from a 1.8 Laguna! :S

Not to worry...Haha!!! Can't wait to hear how you get on with yours...
