door lock unit

Featured Replies

As topic really. If I were to replace an entire door lock mecahnism, do they ned to be programmed to the car? Im sure I read some where once that they do.

Reason I ask is my rear door is stuck shut and I tried all day yesterday trying to get into the lock. Its deadlocked shut from the fob and wont re-open. I failed miserably :giggle: Ive got door card off, but cant get rear window out. window doesnt drop enough to get the plastic dowel pin out.

Went to skoda dealer, they said they would have to smash the lock off to sort it. Price - 200 notes, 100 for lock, 100 for labour

I know these circuitry on the locks is prone to bad solder joints, my front door suffered the same fate, but I caught it before it completley broke.

Anyone knoe how to open a deadlocked door out of interest?

Cheers

They arent programmed no, the do log fault codes though.
