DPF schedule maintenace

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am thinking in buying a Yeti and in order to compare with other makers I need to know what is the recommended DPF replacement plan.

Someone told me 30000Km but I think this is to soon for a component so expensive as this is.

Do anyone know this info? (Believe it or not I can not found this issue in any page or guide in the net :'( ).

Thanks,

Do you need to replace it at fixed intervals? The DPF self cleans when needed and "should" last as long as the exhaust system.

You cant find info on scheduled replacement because there is no need to replace the DPF at a set interval.

I have a DPF on a Hyundai Tuscon which has done 76K in 21/2 years and it just cleans itself on a regular basis (smells a bit when it does it if you happen to stop during or just after the process) but no problems. Also of course because it's diesel (oil) going through the exhaust systems generally the never rust internally either. In 7 company cars in 21 years all with 95K plus at the finish of their lease I have never replaced an exhaust. - Mind you years ago I had a Vauxhall that shed exhausts on a regular basis, but that's another story.

BTW still waiting to get confirmation of delivery on my (leased) Yeti!!

OK. Thanks for the info. The strange was that it was the sales guy from Skoda that gave me that info. It seems that he does not want to sell the car :giggle: .

Maybe he wants it for himself!
