Direction of Rotation

Featured Replies

I've just fitted my winter tyres that I got from Mytyres on steel rims. I've just realised that they have been mounted in exactly the same way on each wheel. The arrows on the tyres are pointing in the direction of rotation on the offside of the car but not on the nearside. Guess this means a trip to a fitters to get two of them reversed on the rims, a bit of a bummer. Would have thought Mytyres would have known better, very annoying. Check what you been given if purchasing from the same supplier and direction of tread is important!

Elementary, dear Watson.

Bloody silly mistake of the fitter.

Would have thought Mytyres would have known better

I think mytyres have fitting agents so may be worth complaining and getting them to fix the problem

Sorry let me explain Mytyres are a large company that supply tyres and wheels all over Europe, both to trade and public, they are based in Germany.

I ordered these over the web and they came fitted to steel wheels, they do however have fitters they supply all over the UK, so will get them to point

me in the right direction at their expense.

I have the TS810's and they are all mounted the same way.

But, as they are asymmetric, they have been fitted correctly, as the wider band is always on the outside (or inside, not looked at them today) The tyres just have written on them 'outside'. which is fine.

Mine are the TS 830's and are marked on both sides with direction of rotation arrows. On the side that is fitted correctly the V shapes of the tread are gripping forwards, but are reversed so that the tails are leading on the other side, clearly wrong.

I have used mytyres many times, I get them to supply me the tyres that I fit myself.

But it is a silly mistake, hopefully get it sorted quickly.
