I have one on order in New Zealand, arriving early 2011. So yes, they are available, but possibly not in all markets.

As I am told by Skoda Norway, Superb with 140 bhp CR, 4x4 and DSG is going into production this week (week 45).

The combination has been available for ordering in Norway and Sweden since october 4th.

I will probably be ordering one in a short thime my self :-)

Hello all, first post here. The 140 is available to spec on the Skoda UK site and has been for a little while. What I don't understand is why they don't offer the 170 as a DSG 4x4. Does anyone know the reason, or is this model option in the pipeline?

Imagine how many potential buyers VW and Audi "could" loose if they brought out the CR170 DSG 4x4 straight away...? It's the usual approach though, to drip feed models on to the market to keep interest up.

I guess thats why the Combi took a while to surface also?

That is old VW policy... Because of that newer motors are always introduced later. I remember that one time there were significant difference between PD and new CR engines. There was much smaller difference between those two engines when you were ordering VW Golf/Passat, while for Skoda it was significant price gap. I think that this introduction of 4x4 + DSG is aimed to solve low demand for 140PS engine, end clear stocks. And when they achieve that it will be just matter of time when 170PS and 4x4 will come. I don't have time to wait 170ps version, but I am still on hold waiting to form price list here in Serbia before I place order for 4x4 DSG combo.

I agree with the above comments. It's all to do with pricing and the superb's position in the marketplace, especially in comparison to the Passat. The pricing for a 170CR with DSG and 4x4 just wouldn't stack up at this point.

I suspect the 170CR will become available with 4x4 and DSG at some stage within the next year or two.

As I have noted in a different thread, the 140CR can supposedly be remapped to give similar if not better torque and power figures compared to a stock 170CR anyway so it's probably not that much of an issue.
