No Dashboard Display

Featured Replies

My dashboard has lost its odometer and clock display - both windows are just blank!

The gauges work just not the LCD displays.

it started after 5 mins driving this morning when they scrambled. Then after a reset - disconnect the battery and leave a bit, the display had some garbage so I reset again then ....... NOTHING!

Ive checked the fuses and they look ok.

It is on a 53 plate Octavia PD130 Elegance estate

Anyone got any ideas?

voltage regulator issue on the PCB cluster, iirc. I think that pulling out fuse 15 will bring them back to life, but they will forget everything when the ignition is turned off. Most posts have been for much older (pre-facelift) cars though. This seems to more relate to the dials not working, rather than LCD displays however.

If your are handy with a soldering iron, you can remake the joints on the PCB, have a google....

Edit - a couple of links, which may be of help.

Yep, sounds like the voltage regulators are dead or have dry joints. Re-flowing the solder joints can often fix this. If the dash works with fuse 15 pulled that usually points to the voltage resistors at fault.

Thanks Guys - your input and advice is much appreciated - managed to get it going as it was a loose joint!

As your issue was the reverse of most dash faults, could you detail the resolution incase other people suffer from it in the future
