Skoda Fabia seat belt buckle remplacement. DIY?

Featured Replies

Hello all. We have a Skoda Fabia 3 and the seat belt buckle has sort of broken, you have to hold the button down and wiggle it about, to lock it in.

Anyway I've found my local Skoda repair garage replaces these and they are £11, but its £60 to fit it, I'm told it takes half a hour...

Is it worth having a go at fitting it myself... or should I leave this to them?

Is there anything I can damage? It just typical!! I have my driving test in the car on Tuesday, and this happens.... do you think its fate lol??

Personally I'd do it myself and its an easy job, as long as it all goes back together and the inertia trip on the seat belt sets in and everything functions as before. torquing to the correct value is a necessary on a safety critical part. F.t. (F'in tight :giggle: ) isn't good enough.
