Hi Folks, new owner of a 2000 slxi octavia estate, bought it today at an auction (scary business) but we've got it home and it seemed to drive OK not been looked after too well so a few bits needed. I''ll be trawling the forums looking for bits and pieces on the forums. Wanting some rubber on all corners a spare tyre and rim. Based in Bolton so anyone in the area with spares give me a shout. Dreaded cambelt willl want seeing to as well, what's the damage on one of these and what else needs doing at the same time? Been a VW transporter owner for many years so this is my first venture into "modern" vehicles Been a regular on www.club80-90.co.uk for many years and helped setup up the wiki there for tech help, so I'm handy with the spanners to a degree. I'm hoping it lives up to the robust reputation it has on the review sites, I could realy do with having some nice boring uneventutful motoring for a while!!
