The ones on Octavia M2 are a b@sterd to get out too, you need to lose some skin and go on a watchmakers course!

Isn't the side lights blowing an indication that the oil scraper ring on number 3 is worn and rear left tyre is under inflated?.....

i am not 100% certain on this, but over on styling and car care there is a post about swapping standard side lights for LED ones. In that post it is mentioned once or twice that you pop the whole light unit out and then change the bulb.

They say it takes around 30 seconds to pop the light out. I have no idea how true this this, but thought it may help a little.

The whole light unit slides out on an Octavia...Not sure about the Superb

Yes that is after taking both units in the house the main bulb and full beam are very easy, but this is a bugger to reach unless you have fingers like ET, and I did go ouch!

I've just been trying to get my ******** sidelights out and have given up.

They dont seem to pull out and they will turn, but WTF have you got to do to get at these pesky little bulbs?

I've changed all my bulbs this morning except these little buggers, so what is the secret, pull, twist, turn, tools????

Well I was nearly at the point of throwing the unit at the wall, Imagine the cap of a biro, with the clip for your shirt, well it is just like that but with a clip at each side, , when you press each side it releases the lugs and you pull. you do not have to twist. When I got them out I smashed the clips off for easier removal next time !! May the force be with you !

Is it any easier to get at the headlight bulbs on the mark2, or do you still need a degree in mecano, like you did with the mark 1

I just had another go at getting them out and they still wont budge :(

I assume that I'm supposed to be squeezing the bulb holder, but do I squeeze the holder at its thinnnest part or the widest? I tried both and they still in there - lol "I have to laugh or I will go mad"

There is no way you would pull the sidelight bulb out with your fingers, but once you realise there is a long tab of plastic tuched inside, you just free the tab which is an inch or so long and they pull out with no trouble at all. This isn't mentioned in any handboock but was only discoverd when my wife insisted it can't be that hard and used the mirror in her handbag to get a better look!

Was Mark to embarressed the female tech how she got it out so quick?

Could they be like the ones on my Toyota?

I struggled one hour to change mine.I was afraid not to break it...but then I just used the force It's really hard to get them out.
