1Z0 Columbus firmware for 2007MY Octavia 2?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Have 1Z0 Columbus (label states 1Z0 035 680 A, 06/02/08, HW: H04, SW 1004), previous owner suggests 1020 SW may be installed also that he had no problem with "battery drain" when unit was installed in his 05 Octy2.

It is to be installed in my Oct 06(MY07) L&K which currently has Nexus & autochanger installed & has MFSW, maxidot & Parrot Hands Free inregrated.

Appreciate advice on that version of SW/irmware will be best to install to:

1) ensure no issues with battery drain

2) gain benefits of additional functionality, speed

Finally would appreciate source for SW, ideally a burnt disc that has already been sucessfully used. A source for Maps v6.1 (or7?) would also be appreciated as I believe SW upgrade will overewrite HD installed version (can anyone confirm this?)

Many Thanks in advance,

Richard

You can safely install firmware 1104 after that you may get battery drain. There are however modified firmwares available that stop battery drain.

The only other way is to replace your can gateway. These can be had for about £85 off eBay but you need access to VCDS and someone who knows what they are doing to recode it.

The only firmware that will erase the HDD is 2660 as this was a factory firmware not intended for public release.

You can get Firmware from VWNavi.com including the modified ones.

As for Maps unless you download a torrent (which is illegal) then you will have to get the OEM ones from Skoda.

Unless of course you know someone with the disc already ;)
