What to look for

Featured Replies

I'm going to the dealers to test drive a 2008 Octavia TDI PD VRS

I was swayed after driving a company Passat quite a bit

I was just wondering what type of problems I may want to looking out for even though the car is relatively new there always seem to be problems that people pick up on.

Also as I'm buying from a dealers is there anything I should ask them to do to the car any work that may need carrying out or any specific cover that anyone may recommend.

if it help the car is on 32k

Thanks for reading

Main problem with these was an exhaust gas pressure sensor that affected the DPF regen cyclce and resulted in full DPFs and limp mode. It should have been replaced under warranty as part of the 26E6 campaign along with a software update for the ECU that makes the DPF regen more effective. Ask the dealer whether this has been done or not and insist on it being carried out before you pick up the car if it hasn't.
