Found more things to like..

Hi all - just a couple more things I have discovered that reinforce my 'pair bond' with mine:

We have had quite a bit of misty fog here in the last few days, not bad enough to be a pain, but a chance to try out the fogs, which I was very pleased with. But even more amazing was that I could actually see the Xenons swivelling - a much more dramatic effect than I had imagined - it's not half so obvious in normal conditions, of course.

The second thing - I visit a friend where there is a very tight turn into a narrow drive - with a nasty fence waiting to scrape something if you get it wrong by even a smidge. This was a pain to negotiate in my old Defenders -you had to get it just right, and swing wide, which is not ideal being on a blindish bend. The Yeti, with its 10m turning circle (according to the brochure) makes it very simple - it feels easier, even, than it did in my Golf. I'm not sure how tight 10m is compared to the opposition (I couldnt find it stated in the Tiguan brochure, for instance), but it feels as though the Yeti is very manouverable, in this respect, to me.

Anyway, two more things to add to the many that make me smile every time I drive it. Winter tyres go on tomorrow, as temps due to drop here next week and snow forecast for some areas - I know you have been enjoying snow for some time in more northern climes - but take care all.

But even more amazing was that I could actually see the Xenons swivelling - a much more dramatic effect than I had imagined - it's not half so obvious in normal conditions, of course.

Have to fully agree. We came home late on Friday night - the fog was probably the worst I'd even driven in down the local country roads but the way the beams moved smoothly inline with the steering wheel movements was simply amazing! The Yeti has by far the most effective lighting setups of any car ive owned.

It's good to know that technology does filter down from the higher end vehicles.

My 535d had these 5 years ago. I loved them. Looking forward to having them on my Yeti.

Mike

The turning circle is brilliant as you rightly say. It is a very under rated issue but one that makes a real difference to day to day driving.
