Will an MFD3 unit fit?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I am in the market for a double din sat nav unit for my MK1 Octavia VRS. would like to keep it OEM if possible and sd card input would be good

what i am wondering is whether much work would need to be done to fit an MFD3 unit into an 02 Octavia vrs. obviously there will be some modification needed to the dash to fit the new unit in but connection wise is anything else needed? will a plug and play cable be available for example or would this whole idea be a wiring nightmare and too difficult to do?

advice, support, ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I didn't think this was possible, but I stand to be corrected.

The mk1 uses an ISO loom but the MFD3 uses a quad lock connector. It is also can-bus dependent as well, IIRC it 'listens' for an on command via can-bus rather than a switched 12v supply.

I don't think it is possible either and even if it was, it would probably be very expensive to implement.
