high revs/temp gauge

Featured Replies

hi all, noticed that my rev counter goes up to 1000 about 30 seconds AFTER start up[around 850 revs at start up] and stays there till she gets up to normal running temp, usualy takes me ABOUT eight miles to get to normal temp in this cold weather[well it did to day]then goes down to 850 revs.is it normal for the yeti to do this??thought after it warmed up a bit the revs would drop sooner!

mike.

If it helps I have the same thing on my CR170 Superb. It will only do it on colder mornings.

An engine is at its most efficient at full operating temperature and a fast idle will help get it there a bit quicker.

Hi freewheeler,

yes quite normal; takes ages for a diesel to warm up in particularly cold weather.

Regards,

TP
