Fog light removal?

Featured Replies

Without looking at the minute, does anyone know whether or not I have to remove the front bumper in order to change the front fog lights?

Thanks in advance!

Please help!

I'm sure someone's taken off their fog lights before?

Bumper off or ET fingers

Damn, hoping that wasn't the case.

Gotta change one light as it's cracked, (when the car defrosts).

Oh well..

It's not a difficult job - just make sure you have three of the trim rivets in case you lose the pin through the middle (I always do!)

  • Turn the steering wheel to full right lock, and remove the Torx screws along the front edge of the NSF wheel arch and the NSR edge of the bumper;
  • Pop out the three trim rivets;
  • Turn the wheel all the way to the left and remove the OS Torx screws;
  • Open the bonnet and remove the two big Torx screws;
  • Slide the bonnet towards you, taking care to disconnect the wiring for the foglamps and the temperature sensor.

I had mine off and back on again quite frequently not so long ago - took me under 30 minutes start-to-finish...

Oh, BTW, I've heard on here that you can get to the foglamps from above by taking the headlamps out - although I'm not convinced that's either easier or quicker!!!

I`d agree that bumper off isnt such a issue, i`v only done it once and didnt take too long.

i can verify that you can take the foglights out but removing the headlight and itsmuch, much easier than taking the whole bumper off. All you do is remove the headlight using the three torx screws and the 10mm bolt. Then you should be able to see 2 torx screws below the headlight recess. Slacken these off on the foglight should just push back. The foglight covers should be off when you're doing this, so you can pull the foglight through the holes.

Deliberate mistake spotted! :giggle:

Might be an idea to have a sheet or something to lay the bumper on when it's removed, save it getting scuffed etc.
