Bolero display question

Featured Replies

The Octavia accessories brochure states the Bolero display can show data from the Climatronic, parking sensors, time and outdoor temperature.

How do you get it to display time and outdoor temperatrure? I can't find any way to set this up.

Thanks

You sure you are not confusing the Maxidot display for the Bolero?

That's where it shows on the Yeti, and I can't see the system being any different.

Yes, its shown on the Maxidot display, but the description of the Bolero in the catalogue says it can show time/temp on its display. There's nothing I can see in the Bolero or Octavia owners manuals to confirm this, so I am wondering if there's either something I've missed or the catalogue is wrong. The pre FL octy I had showed time and temp in the display in the centre console as well as the dash display, so I was hoping this could be carried forward via the Bolero.

Personally I'd have said the brochure was wrong (which let's face it is not a first for Skoda) as I've not seen those optins in my Bolero...

My guess is also that the brochure is wrong, but you never know.

My recent experience with 2 Bolero head units has confirmed that there appear to be variations from one unit to another. The original unit in my Scout (MY2011, built Week 30) wouldn't handle 32GB SD cards and periodically sounded distorted regardless of volume. To their credit, my local dealer, although they could find no fault, replaced the head unit from a brand new Superb that arrived in the same shipment as mine. Magically, 32GB cards are now recognized, distortion problems have disappeared, graphics for the front and rear parking sensors are "fancier" and my wife tells me that mobile phone txt messages she receives to her Bluetooth paired phone are now showing up (which they didn't before). While I guess it's possible that my original Bolero HU was just faulty, I'm inclined to think that there are subtle variations between the firmware of units fitted to different models of cars, rolling off the production line at the same time.

Does anyone know how to interrogate the Bolero to get information such as the firmware revision out of it? It would be interesting to compare this information across a range of cars manufactured around the same time.

The Bolero can show time. When you have it on Radio if you press the "extras" button you then get the choice of "scan" or "info" if you press "info" it shows information on the radio station and then switches to the time, may even show temperature. It will switch between the "time" screen and the "info" screen.
