Well, she came back safely from work and in the dark.

Well done her, it's ace how well people cope in conditions they may never have driven in before. Swmbo is also coping really well, despite being scared the other night when only 1 lane of motorway was open and it was snowing.

Yep, motorways can be very scary in extreme weather like snow and fog. I just told the wife to be light on the pedals, and think well ahead, plus not to park in a dip of a car park. She's never seen snow until the lump we had last year as shes not from these shores, bit of a shock to her this year.

SWMBO has her driving test tomorrow lunchtime..

Freezing temps, snow and ice - If she passes this, she'll be ready for almost anything.

Crikey, good time for a test. I started learning to drive in January and Februaury and one of the first times my dad took me out there was snow on the ground.

The DSA will cancel the test if there is snow on the roads.

And if the roads have been gritted? :giggle:

Our local test centre will cancel all tests if there is a hint of snow on one of the test routes, gritted or not. How did she get on with the test?

Yep - it was cancelled due to freezing weather, although I had no issues driving 30+ miles to and from work :)

They will write to her with a new date shortly, so I'm guessing it will be sometime in January then.

I wish they'd hurry - I'm sick of being chauffeur ..

Please don't tell her I said that.. emoticon-0124-worried.gif
