Lease cars

Featured Replies

Anyone on here lease or hire their car (not company car)?

I'm assuming that there's a strict mileage limit and that maintenace etc is still your responsibility?

Used to. Pro's and cons.

Main cons are must be dealer serviced, and some stipulate tyres must be like for like (same make, model) and all mechanical work only done at dealer.

Can be cheaper buying and simply putting extra £50/month in a savings fund for tyres etc.

I've looked into this in the past. If you get a maintenance lease then the servicing etc is covered, but it is still up to you to arrange the servicing, the dealer will get authorisation to do the work. You can also pay extra on the lease and have tyres covered too...

The mileage I'm doing pushed the lease costs too high for my liking, but if your mileage is say 10-12K a year it is worth looking at
