Garmin cigarette lighter cable to unit

Evening all, My wife has bought me a sat nav and the attachment to the cigarette lighter is pretty nasty looking and its really thick, I really don't want to go down the route of ripping the centre console out - particularly since its -7 here and it takes ages with bits of plastic snapping off - (I've done it loads of times on Golfs!) is there anything a bit easier a way of attaching it somewhere without it looking so darn ugly, and using attachments that fit ( I tried bits of No Nail tape to no success) Any chance of posting up a few pics? :wonder:
