Snow on Car Roof hoax

Featured Replies

While it is a hoax, it would be good if it convinced some more motorists to clear the snow and ice from the cars before driving.

I think this was more of a semi-hoax.

the police are never going to bother if you're driving round with half an inch of snow on your roof.

But I think they might take an interest if (like some round here) you're driving with 18" of snow on your roof. If you brake that could slide down your windscreen and your wipers aren't going to shift it.

also I think someone already posted that the police were stopping commercial vehicles with lots of snow on the roof. But that makes sense, an arctic with a foot of snow on the roof could cause an accident if it fell on the road in a big lump.

How would they clear a fleet of lorries or buses then? :wonder:
