brake lights

Featured Replies

Hi All just had my 99 octavia estate in for MOT and among some little niggles that are easy fixes, apparently all my brake lights dont work. :S Now I checked them all yesterday and they were fine and also had someone following me to the garage and he said they were OK. Has anyone please got any ideas on where to start looking?

Brake light switch attached above the pedal. If not secured properly (twists in) that might be the cause.

Otherwise maybe the fuse....

thanks gents,Ive checked the fuse and thats OK so guessing its the switch. Is this an easy job and do you know if theres a how to guide on here.Ive just tried the search but wasnt very successful.

if you look on the brake pedal you'll see it, just turn it to undo it from the pedal then release the wire connector and visa versa for fitting. really simple takes 2 minutes

That will be a short time fix. I would replace it some time soon....

OK will do.Would have replaced it in the near future as it seems they are only about £10 but was happy for a short term fix tonight,so I could get the car home in the dark and fog
