My current ones are blown and i have bought some like for like replacements...

Any idea how i even go about getting the old ones out? I take it the parcel shelf is a simple clippy thing?

Or will i need to remove the carpet underneath and replace them that way?

The carpet pulls away from around the speakers and you can get to them that way. I had to take the plastic surround off to get to the screws at the back but its easy enough to do (3 or 4 torx screws). Check where abouts the speakers is blown from, mine was split where the foam on the edge of the cone meets the metal housing, nothing was actually broken and i used superglue to seal it back together.

If you can, you'll be better off fixing the speaker due to how the connectors are. On the back of the standard speaker both the input and the rear tweeters plug in, so if your going aftermarket speakers you'll need to do a bit of rewiring/soldering as there's no way to connect the Skoda connectors onto a different speaker. Also i'm not sure if the tweeters use any sort of crossover, and if so that may also be built into the rear speaker.

Hi mate. they are exactly the same as the OEM speakers...I am hoping it will be a simple replace and wire up jobbie...

This could be handy. One of mine has started to play up and i was thinking of getting some pioneer ones which are "custom designed" for VWs etc..
