Had a ride in a Yeti Taxi

Featured Replies

Over in Guernsey at the moment, had my first ride in a Yeti as a passenger with a local taxi firm, it was a diesel with a DSG box and seemed pretty nippy, quiet and refined. One thing though, the plastic's all seemed a bit "scratchy" and the interior reminded me a lot of my old vRoomster. It's a really good looking car from the outside and looks good inside. I was in the back though and was really cramped, which I found surprising, it was bordering on being uncomfortable headroom and legroom wise with a really flat seat, and was a little disappointed with the hard scratchy door plastics (Can't remember the spec)

Nice looking car though, and Evo magazine really seem to like theirs, having put some phenominal times in around their track with it (which of course is not what it's designed for)

Surprised at the comments regarding the scratchy plastics and lack of rear room - I can only assume it was a base spec model and either the front seats were pushed back or the rear ones were slid forward slightly? I'd also have said it was a big step up on the roomster in terms of interior design (had a 1.4tdi 2 for just over six months previously).

Oh and I'm not an owner that won't have a word said against the yeti (despite my above comments!), just giving my view.

Maybe a combination of the seat position, I was just really cramped but I am a 6 footer and 18 stone :). It was a nice car, looked nice but I thought the interior was a bit cheap, and reminded me a lot of the vRoomster Scout I had in that the plastics in the rear where hard, no soft touch stuff. It could of been a base model though, which is what someone would want running it as a taxi. They are getting rave reviews everywhere though so must be a good motor.

Ah, actually, saying what I did above; Ive never actually looked too closely at the plastics quality in the rear! All round I rate them extremely highly, especially in terms of value for money. External build quality and the drivers environment at least are rated well in my book at least. :)

How tall are people here?

I am 6'3" and have loads of headroom in the back of the Yeti ! :o

I must have been in the Junior version then, because I was cramped as hell and found the rear seat pretty flat and shapeless. Do the seat's raise at all? it could all be down to the position the seats where in, only saying how I felt.
