Split washer bottle?

Featured Replies

Noticed I had weak washer squirt a couple of days ago and washer fluid low light came on, I was sure I'd topped up recently. Topped up again this morning and within 5 minutes of de-icing the car the washer level light comes on again. Looked underneath and yep, big puddle of washer fluid on floor and trickle coming out just by front n/s wheel arch. I reckon it's frozen and split the tank. Looks pretty tucked away, anyone know if it's a DIY possible job for a non-mechanic or does a lot need dismantling to get to it. Any ideas on rough garage cost for bottle and work... £50-ish I'm hoping!?

I'd reckon it's the pipe down there that has split, as it has a connector there - mine came off a lot when I had it.

Bumper off for this - not hard at all, but in this weather..........................

Oh and order the large capacity bottle from the dealer - the one for xenon equipped fabs.

Always keep it maxed out on screenwash to try and stop it from splitting again :)

I had a washer pump freeze last year and it split it in two as it appears to come apart in the middle maybe yours has done this?

Pumps fine, can hear it working just the water ****es out the bottom - will check that connector pipe cheers Triggerfish

my motor was still working if you look at the piccy the bit that came apart was the white bit which is like a diverter valve between front n rear washers

Haha my picture!

Is everything in order in my pic or are you saying that Its the T bit that has come apart?

It is, hope you don't mind my re-using it?

AFAIK/remember, that looks how it should be when it's working.
