Fabia vrs SE door strips and colour coding

Featured Replies

Hi my cars going in the workshop pretty soon for some touch ups, im getting the grille colour coded and repairs to both rear arches and left hand mirror. Should i have the strut brace colour coded and the door strips removed? I think the strut brace colour coded will look really oem. What would you do? My rear anti roll bar is also a little rusty, Should I get that painted? If so, To match the wheels or car? Opionions please. :)

Yep its just stuck on, A few on here have done it.

Depends on what the paint is like underneath, not always the best even on a new ish car.

But these are all personal touches so you have to do what you want to do.

It should all be ok, only issue is a respray on one of the doors but the door trim was removed and a new one added when this work was carried out. I know its personal touches and im having trouble deciding hence me asking advice and what others think.

id keep the door trims on cause the paint below can be a different colour / bubbling....

thats unless you fancy a whole respray lol

I guess whilst its in for all the work ill get him to pull the one off the reaprayed door, see how that is, if its all good do the other door if thats all good do the rest. If if f***s up ill just have to get some from skoda. On my corsa it was a hole re-spray jobby.

How about getting the bump strips sprayed? I'm toying with doing this myself, will just spend some time sanding them down and spraying them myself.

If this car was mine I'd had white wing mirrors and the circular foglight surround white too. Think it needs something due to the grill surround being white to match the wheels.

Door strips completely removed looks weird, I tried it -- apparently you can buy the strips in primer, ready for paint designed to be colour coded. I wish I went down that route and probably will change them in the future.

I'm also removing my Whiteline ARB to get powder coated, I think either black or the exact blue would suit your car but it's easier (and cheaper) just asking for gloss black rather than ****ing around with paint charts.

I'd really recommend using Chappel Coachworks, you should go up there for a quote as he was the cheapest I found and my car was bang on. :)

When mine were removed they were stuck on hard, so the plastic bent when pulling them off. I had to pay £40~ for 4 new strips.
