Lowering springs

Featured Replies

I'm planning on buying some 40mm lowering springs as my fab sits like a 4x4.

I was wondering what extra bits I need to buy when lowering? oh and its a PD100.

thanks

Kris

If the dampers, bushes and ARB are all OK, you won't need anything else...

100k but has been very well maintained. Its like new, but suppose it could have hidden wear?

The dampers won't be at their best then. Better to do the lot either with spring/damper kit or coilies.

Thanks, I'll check through the service history as I think they have been replaced at some point in the past.

Also just had new ARB's fitted a couple weeks back.

Do I need shortened something as well? Am I right in saying drop links?

Droplink change not needed on a drop with lowering springs.

Worth checking the condition of the dampers as well. No point having to re-do everything when they need swapping a few months down the line. Save on labour and get them done together.

Thats ideal thanks for the info, when I get home from work I'll find out if or when the dampers were changed.

It's ok for labour, my old man would help me out, as I'm ok with electrics but not so smart with mechanics! :p

PS I think I'm actually getting addicted to this site!
