Does wax go off?

Featured Replies

Bought a humongous sized tin of collinite 476s a couple of years ago but not got around to using it until yesterday. Found it almost had a skin on the top and the texture of the wax is nothing like any paste wax I have used before. I guess it's like some sort of sweet. Just wondering if my tin has gone off?

Thanks in advance :)

It's possible. Where have you been storing it?

Just on wooden shelving in the spare bedroom Shouldn't have been very warm in there, it's not by a radiator or in direct sunlight. It seemed to apply okay to my wheels despite the unusual texture.

That should be fine then. Could well have just settled, hence the skin on the surface. The problem often comes from storing it in too cold an environment, as people often leave it in the garage or shed.

It will be fine

Yep agree, there, colder temperatures normally effect most detailing products, some more than others but IMHO it should be fine.........

It's polishes that tend to have 'use by' dates on them...............
