Been a busy boy today.....

Featured Replies

This is just a quick thread to say thanks to a few people.

1st: Thanks to Westallc for helping me out and selling me the car I will be stripping to fix my other Octavia vRS.

2nd: Fatty5000 for resetting my Service indicator on my 05 vRS and doing a scan on the 51 vRS. As a thankyou I let him have a quick blast too and I hope he liked it. :giggle:

Back to it, I went and picked the car up on Sunday morning before work in the evening and the car was not in the cleanest state as Im sure Westallc will vouch for if he comes on. She was looking a bit sorry for her self on the interior. These next 3 pics show the state it was in but the camera has put a good edge on it and made it look nicer than it was. the first one I have done most of the back but not the one base just as a comparrison.

Then I set to work and used 2 full tins of Tesco Foam Upolstry spray and it got the white back well really, Cant wait to get the Rug Doc on it and it will all look good as new

I couldnt do all the carpet coz I ran out of spray lol, and the cloth was getting very dirty.

After the next pics I ent over all the leather with Armeral and turtle wax Dash shine. Its made the interior much much better and you can slide back into the seat lol unlike before you stuck to it.

In the process of this clean I filled 2 Vac bags with dirt and it actually broke my old Hoover I use for the cars, so Had to switch to the Vax one we use in the house with an attachment beater lol.

just to plug this Interior, It will be For Sale in Feb when I strip the car all being well.

Also I noticed last night that one of the boots on the steering rack had poped off so I set too and sorted that out, thought Ide check the other side too and it was also broke, the passengers side was ok just needed re attaching to the rack but the drivers side was totally U/S so I ended up stripping it down to get a new one on. Now its all sorted.

Oh and one last thing, Getting the wheels off was a pig! Fatty5000 loaned me an extendable brace but before that I have the std brace on the wheel and all 15 stone of me was bouncing on it to no avail lol. :S

thanks for looking.

still using the cd lol, its well good, I only ever used std head unit.

The zorst sound of this one is not as good as my other one, I think its coz of the std center section. It kills the sound. Ill bet Id be driving round with the window down in that thing lol. and driving along walls too.

This one I got off you is freeky tho lol, coz of the decat the second air pump still pumps lol, but the blower seems to be just loos lol as it hisses when the pump is on lol.

hurry up with the cd player i need it back lol i miss my music lol#

have you removed the secondary air pump etc from yours ??? if not i have the resistor and blanking plate for that mod if you need ;-)

p.s put the decat on yours ;-)

Nice job on the seats! Can you further expand on your technique for cleaning the White/Silver seat inserts?

As great as the interior on the vRS looks, the seats seem to stain with rainwater!!!

Was it just the Tesco cleaner you used?

Looks good Billy

I used vanish carpet cleaner (foam spray) and it brought them up a treat B)

Clive you lazy swine I thought you were doing them?? (as per the 100 phone calls asking what I used)

A 'VAX' wet and dry cleaner works wonders on these too. As well as the carpet.

Should any particular care be taken on HEATED front seats?

Don't wanna get them too damp/wet!

Yes mate, just the tesco cleaner. the older ones used to smell nice. they had red writing on the tin, thedse have white writing and they smell of cleaner lol. but still work a treat, Its only a temporary thing tho as you say a drop of water will stain them as the cleaner is still on the seat. If it was me I would use the cleaner through the year just to keep on top of it and once a year at least use a Rug Doctor or equiv. and that will bring them back to NEW! just be sure to use a weaker solution and rince them off onec or twice.

I couldnt say there mate, you shouldnt of been so posh lol.

I dont know TBH mate, I would of thought that a wet vac will be your best bet and just make sure you vac up more that the rest of us need to.

Good luck

Billy
