Chinese Superb version - see differents

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I found some nice pictures of the chinese version of the passats model. Ok, everyone knows that the superb MK1 is based on the chinese passat. But I didn't know that the interior is alsmost the same.

Some stuff are better, some looks cheaper. If I compare to my 2007 elegance version I noticed this differents:

Superb in passat version

+ More wood, nicer wood in door and passenger side of dashboard (more like audi A6 model 2003)

+ 230V plug at front arm rest

+ door can storage 1,5l bottle (4 doors!)

+ chrome accents on window push buttons

+ chrom light switch

+ nice floor mats

+ nice switch for rear door lights

- no storage compartment in rear arm rest

- cheaper plastic look of mid console / stereo

- plastic steering wheel

- no chroom in luggage room

- exterior design compared to superb

What do you think? You also prefer the good old superb or....?

Thanks

Thought it was a Lexus :)

From and exterior design point of view it doesn't work for me, middle section of the car is what we know to be the Superb which is round and bulbous, front and rear is too new VW with some straight and angular lines that just don't match up well for me..............

Having said that I like some of the interior trim...........

The earlier Chinese Passat is even more similar...

Strangely no auto dip rear view mirror!!

I didnt see any Superbs during my stay in China, plenty of Fabias and a few Octavias; probably more than I saw of newer VW models, although there are thousands of 80's designed Jettas and Passats used as taxis

Don't think they brand it a Superb over there, what you saw was a Passat, but in China it's really a Superb rather than that squashed VW effort. :giggle:
