Firstly to say hello and thanks for all the posts on the Fabia vRS, esp the one from Auric Goldfinger who gave us the heads up on VAT free before Jan!

Went down to the local dealer today and test drove a Fabia vRS.

Placed an order for:-

Candy White

Standard Wheels

Underseat Storage boxes

Arm Rest (yep.... needed after my next birthday!)

Heated Seats (see above!)

Reversing Sensors

Not expecting to see her before April. In the meantime please keep the pictures of the vRS coming. I like to see the options and colours that are being ordered.

congrats on the order..and welcome. :)

My only thoughts re. your order...armrest is pretty useless unless you do regular m'way miles...I've used ours once in 1200 miles.

Bum warmers are ace! My wife can take level 2 for 4 minutes...I can only manage 2 tops! :D

She arrived at the dealers today. As its Easter will visit dealer Saturday to complete paper work. Hopefully driving her next week! Cannot wait now!

standard wheels on mine too thought they would go better with the silver body.

Finally..... the deed was done at 3pm today

Goodness knows why it took the DVLA so long to tax and register the thing. The punch line to this it that they processed the request on the 30th April therefore my tax expires ..... you guessed it, 31 Mar next year. At least Mr Turpin wore a mask.... :'(

Pics will follow in a few weeks (I know, DVLA SLAs).

I've been driving it like it's made of China, but did surprise an Audi driver by getting out in front of him! :giggle:

So far I have been impressed with the way DSG seems to anticipate changing down etc. I've not used S mode yet!

For completeness, the final spec is Candy White, Black wheels, Bum warmers (believe me, today was not the day to test them :giggle: ) underseat storage, arm rest and parking sensors. For order date, please see the date of the first post.

P.S Sport Mode can be good for very quick overtakes, but for more than 5 mins, you'll need to master it with the paddles. :p

Yep, this is the future, D for crusing, knock it into manual and drop a few gears on the paddles for proper overtaking, that way the auto mode wont do the schitzophrenic (sp?) drop a gear wait a few seconds, then decide you want another gear drop.. great fun, but watch the speedo! :smirk:

as a total noob to DSG and still waiting for my car to be made - I guess from reading the above you can go from "D" to "S" while the car is moving with any problems, is that correct?
