Scout - suspension assistors

Finally got around to trying to fit the Mad Suspension rear spring assistors a few days ago.

The principle seems fine - jack up car, support wheel, unbolt shock, insert assistors inside main springs, and then put everything back together.

Fell over early on when I found that the lower shock bilt can't come out as it bottoms out on the spring before it is fully out.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get around this problem?
