Bluetooth telephone operation with steering wheel

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I specced my Fabia vRS with both the Bluetooth and 'MFSW with controls for radio and telephone' and I picked the car up on Tuesday.

Despite reading the instructions several times, the only phone functionality the steering wheel seems to have is answer calls, end calls and activate voice control. If I press the rolling wheel once, it goes into the phone system menu, press it again and it displays the last dialled numbers. To scroll up and down through the list though I have to use the rocker switch on the right hand stalk I.e. I can't do it using the rolling wheel on the steering wheel. Pressing the two buttons next to the roller wheel do nothing except operate the radio either, even though I'm in the phone menu of the MFD.

This seems very counter-intuitive and there seems no way to select things in the menu or indeed go back other than using the rocker switch to select and the button on the underside of the stalk to confirm selections.

Am I doing something wrong here or is this how it works? If that's the way it is then I'm rather miffed at having spent the best part of £150 on essentially a little wheel that serves only to answer or end calls.

Any thoughts?

Anyone?

Surely the Bluetooth option must be popular enough for someone to know the answer?

You have to use the button on the underside of the right stalk to select the menu functions.

Oops just reread, sorry my bad!

So is that the way it is then and I'm not doing anything wrong?

Also how do you go back a screen or go back to the main screen when you're in the phonebook for instance? In some menus there's a 'back' option but in others where there's a lot of options it can take some time to scroll to the back option?

I've got a lot to learn with this system it seems!

You can push and hold the right rocker switch to go back to the main screen.
