Installing ESP system

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I have bought Skoda Octavia II Tiptronic. I thought ESP system is a mandatory option in all Octavia cars, so I hadn't checked if my car had it or not before I bought it. But I discovered that it is an optional equipment and my car doesn't have it :(

Is it possible to install ESP system to my car? I think my car has all other safety systems required to make ESP work (ABS, MBA, MSR, ASR).

Thanks in advance,

Amr

I don't think it is possible to retrofit ESP, easily anyway as not only do you need the controller software you will need to buy and fit a different ABS unit, one of the troublesome Teves Mk60 units to stand a chance of making it work.

Longitudinal sensor, lateral sensor, acceleration/deceleration sensors, brake pressure sensors plus the wiring and control units, different brake lines it's a massive job.

I kinda retro fitted ESP to my estate but I had a complete car to donor off of and had to change everything Inc the master cylinder.

In one word, forget it and drive carefully.

Thanks guys for replies.

The car is very stable indeed, but with ESP it would be safer. Anyway, it seems impossible to install ESP system and I had to live with it :)

Thanks again
