Anyone Dye'd the white bits of vRS interior

Featured Replies

Hi, now the tatty cream carpet has been replaced in my MK1 Octavia vRS with a black carpet i was wondering if it's possible to dye the white bits of the door cards and seats to match. Also i noticed at the weekend my G/F's cheapy coat from New Look has started to dye the seat base, lumbar area and door card where her elbow rests so i'd like to hide that as i'm not sure it'll shampoo off.

I've searched the internet and found a potential product to use, it's called simply spray.

I was wondering if anyone had done this before. I'm a bit concerned the dye may rub off on clothes, also wondering if the fabric will go hard/crusty after dying?

Also will the seats have some sort of protection on them like scotchguard which would mean the dye won't take or after 8-9 years of use will that have worn off long ago?

This car is a daily commuter i bought my GF so i'm not interested in forking out for a retrim.

Any advice and suggestions are welcome.

Jon

Wouldn't it look a bit wishy washy of you tried dying it, like darker bits here and there from where it has been applied thicker too, also I would imagine it would just come off if you sat in the seat for a long time. I might be wrong on the matter but I can't see it working.
