free motoring

Featured Replies

Seen the spread in this months EVO but it has a sports bias. Not sure I'd have the balls to risk the money on their more practical suggestions, RS4 or Mazzer QP.

So can you find free motoring where comfort and affordable luxury are required or is it just the demand for performance that gives sports bred cars the cost edge?

Think if you have just got an Octavia diesel on the vat free deal you should be able to sell that for more than you paid, as a few on here have done.

As for the Evo article, would you buy a mk1 Clio V6 to keep and run for a year, and then try and sell it for what you paid?

Still seems to much of a gamble for me, but i would love to own some of the cars on the list.

No, I wouldn't have the balls. I couldn't gamble all that money on those cars my wife would kill me. Besides, the sort of thing I'd like would be a bit more comfortable and luxurious and that's the market that seems to suffer horrendous depreciation.

I know you can try to exploit seasonal trends in the convertible or 4x4 market but big saloons with rock solid residuals? :rubschin:

My son has just had a year of free motoring; we bought his "P" plate Felicia for £150 and he has just sold it for £200.

He could have got even more if he had replaced the original speakers and the radio it came with, and started with a higher asking price (I told him to ask for £400 and the plonker said £250-£300).

Sadly, this also means I no longer qualify to be in Briskoda emoticon-0106-crying.gif No Skodas in the family now.

That#s never stopped me.

But I was looking at ideas above bangernomics :giggle:

Bought a Fiat Sedici Eleganza off a Honda dealer. 2 years later I sold it to a Fiat dealer for only £400 less than I originally paid for it. Surprised me and I used to sell cars for a living :D
