Running 0 gauge cable in Octavia, how?

Featured Replies

I want to run 0 gauge power cable for a new ICE install, but am a little unsure how to get it through the bulkhead.

The grommet under the wiper tray is only just big enough to get a 4 gauge cable through.

Have people enlarged this hole to take a bigger cable or is there a similar larger grommet somewhere else?

Si.

good question, i have a 0awg cable kit to install in mine later in the year and didn't even think of this

i'll handle this one gentlemen...

i have run 0awg through my octy... if you have ever noticed there is a little nozzle that drips water from the AC unit...to the left of that (looking forward inside the car) is a nice space located in line with the bottom of the dash and the top of teh foot you will have to pull away the carpet you can drill a hole through teh bulk head there...there is then ample clearnace the other side to run the cable through teh bulk head...and your not drilling through anything important either... buy a bulk head washer from an ice shop or back fill teh hole with silicon sealer ..take the passenger front seat out and run the cabel under the carpet....

bobs your uncle fannys your arunt hey presto gravy !!!

if this dont make anys sence i can get some pics

On the Leons, on the passenger side of the bulkhead under the bonnet where the main wiring loom goes into the car, there's a big rubber "seal" for want of a better term, which has "nipples" on it that can be cut off, allowing for 0awg cable to be passed through into the passenger footwell... I'll see if I can find a pic somewhere to show you.

With the Leon and Octy being so similar, I wouldn't be surprised if you also had the same, erm, "seal"...

Hers some pics... you see where the wire comes in the car is ideal for running through the centre of the car... hope that makes it clearer
