skoda dealer has just told me the rivets on my handbrake mount are pulling through (must admit the handbrake is rubbish) he said they could bolt a plate on for £240 ,anyone else come across this?

I can easily make my own plate ,is there access to get bolts through without taking off exaust,heatsheild ect

just give it the one bump but anyway i will update the thread when i sort it

A plate might be part of the answer but in either case you have to decide to re-rivet it or maybe go for nuts/bolts and threadlock. Could be tricky to nut/bolt it unless you leave the holes slightly small to stop things falling apart before you stick the nut on.
