Power loss?

Featured Replies

Seems that my Skoda sometimes suffers from power loss. It happens rarely. It like under 2k rpm when you press accelerator pedal nothing happens for a second. That happened few times on second gear. Apart from that engine runs fine.

Could the problem be spark plugs? Fuel filter? Don't know when those are changed.

1.8 20v non turbo engine.

It actually got a bit worse. This evening i pushed engine a bit harder, and around 3500rpm there was the same problem. It feels like engine cuts out for a bit. No warning lights blink, just nothing. Really nobody has dealt with this kind of problem?

any fault codes?

when was it last serviced?

Not really very good on petrols - dodgy batch of fuel? or maybe coilpacks failing?

well my father forgot to ask about spark plugs and fuel filter. Havent done diagnistics yet. Tomorrow i probably will. And im also starting to think about coils. But the thing is, i never seen coils to go bad on such a low mileage (147k kms) but thanks anyway. I will update this post with diagnoatics results.

Problem solved-

It turned out to be faulty lambda sensor which caused engine to not operate properly and a dodgy carter ventilation hose.

Lambda sensor actually was changed in summer, when car failed MOT because exhaust fume levels were to high.

Strange that sensor failed so early.
