Bilstein B6s I'd say.

+1

mantiss - you don't say what spec your car is? Vrs, Elegance, Sport etc? It difficult to recommmend if we don't know what your starting point is..

What issues specifically do you have with the OE set up that you want to address?

I'm surprised no-one has recommended Koni FSD's as these seem to be the normal response when ride quality is mentioned..

There's a guy from DPM (damian) who posts on here sometimes - he seems to give good advice and his pricing is normally pretty good. Maybe drop him a pm?

HTH.

hlo again, sorry for lack of info.My car is 2006 octavia elegance 140pd estate,i need to change front dampers, slight leak, also not damping very well, milage 71,000.

I thought of the B6 as a lower-cost alternative really. Should have thought about the FSDs really as Rob's mentioned, especially seeing as I'll be having some fitted shortly :dull:

What sort of budget have you in mind Mantiss?

hi

i have found a good price from euro parts, fronts £51.54 each for sachs gas, trouble is fitting them, understand you have to remove hub and leg as one item,to strip down. also understand Bilstein b6 ones are sports type.

Bilstein B4 is an OE spec damper, maybe these would be a good place to look if you don't want to go "sporty"?

I would go for B4's if your looking for comfort as B6 are quite firm
