Can get the voice control to make calls through my iPhone but not to play music. Handbook seems a little vague at best about voice control commands! Anyone out there with an iPhone had any luck?

Don't have the Columbus but the voice control certainly works with my iPhone for calls. Manual seems to suggest that, if I am streaming music via Bluetooth, it should be possible to use voice control to make that work too?

which manual? Bolero or Yeti?

I'm only aware of being able to use voice control to operate the Columbus- all aspects of it. I press a button on the MFSW and say for example, media, then Bluetooth Audio when prompted.

Have you tried envolking voice control on the iPhone itself (long press of the Home button) to see if it will pick up the Yeti microphone?
