iPhone/iPod on 1.4 S

Featured Replies

Hoping someone on here can help as I've done a search through older posts and still a bit confuddled!

OK, we've got a new 1.4 S Yeti arriving in a few weeks (scheduled for Week 09 build). Got a few extras - thanks everyone on here for the guidance - such as MaxiDot, spare wheel and met paint, but stayed with the standard radio (Stream?). There is still a chance to add some others extras.

I want to be able to play music from an iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, but not too bothered about having hands free phone functionailty on the car. The dealer has suggested fitting a Parrot Bluetooth kit @ £347 to be able to play the music from the iPhones.

I read on here about installing a lead from the back of the standard radio - so I know that is one possiblity. But what are the other options?

Is upgrading to a Bolero radio worth considering and how much would that be? If so, does the factory install include rear speakers? Can a Bolero sort out the iPhone question? I'm not interested in using SD cards.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

I fitted a £30 Connect2 aux in kit to my non mp3 stream, then bought a £2 vent mount off fleabay. Works well with my tomtom app as it fades the music when giving directions.

The Bolero as far as I'm aware doesn't include any extra speakers. Not sure that it would sort out your question. I think the above lead is probably the cheapest and possibly for your vehicle, the best solution. I believe it is a fairly neat solution.

To use the iphones you need a 3.5mm socket attached to the headunit and a jack to jack lead as per above post.
