MDI and music player functionality

Featured Replies

Hi,

Talking to the dealer they were a bit vague about the functionality that this would give and without trying it is difficult to understand how it works.

At the moment my wife uses a Creative Zen Mosaic in the car with a USB radio transmitter sitting on the passenger seat and the radio tuned to the transmitter signal. Most of the time it is on random and she skips tracks as required by reaching over and pressing the next button.

When we get a roomster we could just plug it into the aux socket and she can do the same, but without the radio transmitter. Would the MDI + radio control + Swing radio allow the random play and skip to be done, but by using the steering wheel controls? Do you just plug it in select random on the radio then use skip?

It is her birthday soon so a new music player is a possibility, any suggestions about what works well with this setup?

You'd an iPod, and the suitable iPod MDI cable to get full functionality and control of the device through the headunit emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Ha,

Well a new ipod would please her no end, it would nip the short arms and deep pockets comments I usually get :)

It's a win-win then :D
